Charity fundraiser extraordinaire, Andrew Baker MBE, who established the Didcot based charity @play2give over 22 years ago, is organising, amongst other activities and campaigns, two fabulous fundraising events for you...
Didcot
In just under a month, we will embark on the Trust for Sustainable Living’s very first Giving Day in support of specific animal welfare improvements in The Living Rainforest. Over the next few months we will upgrade the dart frogs’ enclosure, implement a new themed insect display, install UV lighting for our primates and establish a mudskipper breeding facility. We know the extremely positive impact these items will have on many of our animals, and also on the visitor and educational experience overall on site.
Community football club, the Didcot Dynamos, was founded in November 2020 to provide a football club for children to play and learn the beautiful game. The Club currently has a team in the U7’s of the Oxfordshire Youth Football League and they are looking at expanding into more age groups in the near future.
Oxfordshire Play Association
Improving Children’s Lives Through Play
Since 1974, charitable organisation Oxfordshire Play Association (OPA) has been working hard to increase play opportunities for children and young people aged 0 to 19 years across the county. They want to champion and support the rights of all Children and Young People to have access to high quality, inclusive play opportunities to improve their physical, mental and spiritual wellbeing.
The Earth Trust Centre at Little Wittenham is where you will find 30 employees, hundreds of regular volunteers and over 500 regular supporters. Volunteers have always played an important part in the Earth Trust story and back in 2016 their hard work was rewarded with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service (the MBE for volunteer groups).
