Seven miles from the heart of historic Oxford lies Waterperry Gardens, 8 acres of beautiful ornamental gardens with a fascinating history.

Established

as a School of Horticulture for Ladies by Beatrix Havergal in 1932, it is now home to a plant centre and garden shop, art gallery, gift barn, museum and teashop. You can also visit Waterperry’s Saxon Church on the estate and Waterperry House conducts tours of their stunning contemporary frescoes each Wednesday and Friday.

Lose yourself in the wonderful gardens featuring a 200 foot long herbaceous border, formal knot and rose garden, colour and contemporary borders, a waterlily canal, riverside walk and herbaceous nursery stock beds.

The Georgian Walled Garden at Waterperry has been undergoing an exciting re-development which includes a cutting garden and orchard along with a water feature and viewing tower.

Waterperry offers

a full programme of year round events, including horticulturally themed weekends, art shows, concerts and theatre productions, many of which are held in the stunning outdoor Amphitheatre.

You’ll also find

a wide range of courses including RBGE practical and RHS theory certificates, plus whether you are new to gardening or have a passion for plants, pruning or design, there is a host of one day and short courses too.

Opening Times:
