Ultimate Activity Camps

Inspiring Children Everyday Throughout the School Holidays

divider

When you are a working parent, school holidays can be a difficult time to keep young people occupied and it is not always possible for one or both parents to take time off work to cover childcare. If this problem speaks to you, perhaps the activities offered by Ultimate Activity Camps may be your solution.

With camps held at St Hugh’s School in Faringdon and Hill End Outdoor Centre in Farmoor, both locations are accessible for people living in West and South Oxfordshire. Camps are also held at Headington School and the Oxford University Sports Campus in Oxford.

The company running the Ultimate Activity Camps has over 25 years’ experience and know what it takes to keep children between the ages of 4 to 14 entertained and fulfilled during the school holidays. As parents themselves, the team understand how important it is to parents that your child is well cared for whilst placed in holiday care and they ensure they put child safety and welfare at the heart of all that they do. In addition, their experienced and inspiring staff run exciting activities and have fantastic facilities available so that your child can enjoy a quality experience and be inspired by the pursuits they get involved with. The holiday activity day camps provide an exciting range of sport, art and games activities from swimming and fencing to art and zorbing.

You can also take advantage of their flexible childcare packages, booking by the day or week with the daily or weekly price being the same regardless of the programme you book. If your needs change, you can alter your dates for free up to 14 days beforehand and you can also pay by childcare vouchers.

The Easter and Summer Ultimate Activity Camps are held at the independent co-ed Prep School St Hugh’s School, Faringdon SN7 8PT conveniently located between Swindon and Oxford. The School has incredible indoor facilities and impressive grounds for outdoor sports and activities. There will be a range of over 40 age-appropriate sports, games and craft activities on offer each week, led by inspiring staff. Timetables are structured to provide your child with adequate time to thoroughly enjoy swimming in the pool, more time to be artistically creative and enjoy outdoor sports, whilst having fun and making new friends. Easter activities start on 2 April and Summer activities on 22 July 2024.

New for 2024 is the Ultimate Tech Camp which will also be held at St Hugh’s. Designed for 8- to 14-year-olds, aspiring technologists will be able to get hands on experience using and getting involved with creating tech projects. Every part of their technical mind can be challenged as they get involved with arcade game making, coding and Microbit device building to cyber security and website build.

The Ultimate Survival Camps which are held at both Hill End Outdoor Education Centre, Farmoor and St Hugh’s in Faringdon. Using both locations’ natural woodland areas, these Camps are designed for 7- to 14-year-olds. Here your child will be involved in learning survival activities, take part in archery and go wild as they enjoy fun and adventurous outdoor pursuits at the Ultimate Survival Day camps. Each week the camp will be run to a different theme, offering variety no matter which day your child is there. They can also participate in the Thursday evening Camp Cook Out where they can enjoy survival team games, a campfire dinner, toasted marshmallows, and optional bug-eating challenges! They do however need to be booked for the Thursday day camp in order to participate in the evening (at an additional cost).

The Ultimate Survival Camps for May are from 28 -31 May and the Summer Survival Camps at St Hugh’s start on 29 July. The Camps held at Hill End Outdoor Education Centre start on 15 July.

Not only do the young people who participate in the various camps benefit from the time they spend there, but parents are delighted by the facilities and care their children receive from UAC staff.

“I really like the fact that my children can’t wait to tell me about they did during the day and all the new friends they have made!”

“The safeguarding standards are exceptional. I felt confident that my child would have a great time and be safe.”

“The staff are very helpful, supportive, and welcoming. They make an effort to get to know the children which is very impressive.”

Experienced Coaches have said that the 13- 15 year old teams often struggle as the boys mature. Some have a change of heart and move in a different direction, some become passionate about the game. Some parents bring their lads along to try and give them a focus, a physical outlet or to give them a direction in which to find themselves. Our team has struggled with these challenges and as Coaches we have deliberately sought to develop the team with a focus on the RFU core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS).
