West Oxfordshire Community Transport Can Help You Get There

divider

West Oxfordshire Community Transport (WOCT) is a community-owned cooperative that operates seven bus routes throughout West Oxfordshire, providing essential transport connections for the local community.

For residents in and around Carterton, there are two available routes. The Carterton Connector 345/355 services connect the northern and southern outskirts of Carterton with the town centre. These services operate from 9am to 1pm on Tuesdays and Saturdays and from 9am-4pm on Thursdays. Financial support for these routes is provided by Carterton Town Council.

WOCT operates as a Community Benefit Society, conducting business for the betterment of the community. Any surpluses generated are not distributed among members or external shareholders; instead, they are reinvested in the organization to further its business objectives.

Under the oversight of Andrew Lyon, a qualified Transport Manager, WOCT employs a team of community-minded bus drivers to operate their services. Additionally, a part-time Administrator manages data input, payroll, administrative tasks, website content, and newsletter writing. Volunteers from the community handle other essential tasks such as HR, Finance, Technology, Book-keeping, Accounts, Marketing, Governance, and Compliance.

Many of us have clothes hanging in our wardrobe that we no longer wear. That does not mean to say there is anything wrong with them but perhaps they no longer fit, your lifestyle has changed, and you no longer require business clothes to wear to work or you are simply bored with them. Now, thanks to an initiative organised by Sustainable Wantage and Grow Families, you can be part of a Clothes Swap taking place at Wantage Methodist Church in Newbury Street on Saturday 19th October.
