Community football club, the Didcot Dynamos, was founded in November 2020 to provide a football club for children to play and learn the beautiful game. The Club currently has a team in the U7’s of the Oxfordshire Youth Football League and they are looking at expanding into more age groups in the near future.

Didcot Dynamos FC is an England Football Accredited Club as well as being affiliated with the Berks & Bucks FA. This is testament to their commitment of providing a safe, enjoyable and well organised environment for their young players. Didcot Dynamos’ main focus is on player development alongside developing the young people’s community spirit. They want to help their players become well-rounded individuals who excel both on and off the pitch. The Club cultivates a passion for the game alongside each player’s personal development.

Their young players compete in the Oxfordshire Youth Football League. The Dynamos’ coaching philosophy places an emphasis not just on technical proficiency but also fosters sportsmanship, teamwork, and personal growth. They are incredibly proud of both the Club’s and the players’ progress, but this is just the beginning. For those involved with the Club, they all share a vision for Didcot Dynamos to become a pillar of youth football development in Oxfordshire.

Experienced Coaches have said that the 13- 15 year old teams often struggle as the boys mature. Some have a change of heart and move in a different direction, some become passionate about the game. Some parents bring their lads along to try and give them a focus, a physical outlet or to give them a direction in which to find themselves. Our team has struggled with these challenges and as Coaches we have deliberately sought to develop the team with a focus on the RFU core values of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship (TREDS).
