Driving Miss Daisy Didcot (DMDD) takes its name and ethos from the 1989 movie, in which a mature lady reluctantly agrees to giving up driving and hires a chauffeur. After several journeys and much time together, Miss Daisy and her driver’s relationship blossoms into a close and meaningful bond…

DMDD provide a companionship service for people who need somebody to support them or who perhaps live alone, and to people who do not or cannot drive; this includes senior citizens, people with specialist needs, children and even pets. Journeys can be local or afar, for necessity or for fun.

What makes them unique is that unlike other services and voluntary or paid transport providers is that their companion drivers are licensed to take clients out in their vehicles for appointments, shopping, days trips or even breaks away, or they can simply visit you at home or go for a walk together. Their carefully selected companions provide value-added services with every trip, such as greeting you at your door, offering a supporting hand or providing updates to family/carers. It is about your choice, what you enjoy and need.

What their client’s say...

“Excellent service from everyone at the company. I had to go on a long trip following the death of a parent and everyone was so sympathetic and Dave the driver was more like a mate over the course of the journey” ~ David L, Didcot

“We use DMDD to take my daughter to her holiday club, they are very good with her patient and understanding and nothing is too much trouble.” ~ Michelle C, Didcot

“Well, a year on and I can say I've used DMDD many times. They're so helpful, kind and friendly - I'm very grateful I found them. I highly recommend them. “~ Jackie H, Didcot

The service is pre-booked and pre-quoted so there are no sudden surprises. The client is in control and is assured they have a safe and reliable service.

Many of us have clothes hanging in our wardrobe that we no longer wear. That does not mean to say there is anything wrong with them but perhaps they no longer fit, your lifestyle has changed, and you no longer require business clothes to wear to work or you are simply bored with them. Now, thanks to an initiative organised by Sustainable Wantage and Grow Families, you can be part of a Clothes Swap taking place at Wantage Methodist Church in Newbury Street on Saturday 19th October.
