Let’s All Dance Company are bringing the family favourite Goldilocks: The Ballet to The Beacon this July!

divider

Whatever your age there are some classic children’s stories which continue to be entrancing and this July, ballet lovers and families can experience a brand new ballet adaptation of Goldilocks, performed by Let’s All Dance Ballet Company. As part of their West End and UK Tour, the Company will be performing at The Beacon Wantage on Saturday 20 July with two performances at 1pm and 3pm and a chance to meet the cast after the show.

The classic children’s story sees Goldilocks (Holly Moon-Griffith), the girl with lovely locks and her jar of magical honey, as she befriends a family of bears and teaches us the value of sharing. But watch out for Selfish Sid, who on hearing that the honey is magical, hatches a nasty plan to steal it from Goldilocks. With a 1940’s vibe, a variety of dance styles and plenty of bowls of delicious porridge, this ballet is just right!

Choreographed by Carl Alan Award nominated Jack Pallister and directed by Orit Sutton (Artistic Director of Let’s All Dance Ballet Company), Goldilocks: The Ballet is the perfect opportunity for the whole family to enjoy live ballet, audience participation and theatre for the first time.

Director Orit Sutton comments “I’m incredibly excited about this new production. Now in its 11th year, the company has a large repertoire and it’s great to be adding a show that mixes our signature classical ballet with variety and even a little slapstick! As with all our productions, Goldilocks will be character and narrative lead as well as visually gorgeous, so it will really grip children and their families. It’s a real privilege to be leading such a fantastic team of designers, costume and set makers, choreographers and dancers, and we shall be touring to some fantastic venues; I can’t wait to share this new show with our lovely audiences in 2024.”

Choreographer Jack Pallister comments “I have always had a real love for music hall and variety theatre and am thrilled to have the opportunity to combine these styles with ballet. It’s important to honour the traditions of our rich theatrical past here in Britain and keep it alive. By combining all of these styles and genres together we can introduce our much-cherished culture of yester-year to a whole new generation.”

Told in 1 Act and running at 45 minutes, this is the perfect show for children and families and includes a chance to have your photo taken with the Three Bears and Goldilocks herself!

Tickets can be booked via The Beacon’s website beaconwantage.co.uk/events/lets-all-dance-ballet-goldilocks or in person at The Box Office.
