Luna Beer Stand with Ukraine

Like so many others around the country, we have been shocked, dismayed and moved by the images that are coming out of Ukraine. Having made both monetary donations and donations of clothing, food and first aid supplies, we felt as a company that we wanted to do more to help those affected by the war.

Although still recovering financially from the effects of the pandemic, we wanted to make a further and more significant donation and so looked at ways that we could do this. One of the obvious choices, and one that other local brewers around the country have also chosen, is to brew a beer to sell to pubs in the local area from which we could make a donation to the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

We have been brewing at White Horse under the Luna Beer name for over three years and have a customer base with an appetite for these ever-changing beers. We contacted our regular customers to let them know about this beer and within two days, most of the brew has been pre-sold.  It will be delivered to pubs around the area from Monday 21  and these pubs can then choose to make a further donation from their sales should they wish.

Stand with Ukraine will also be available for sale in five-litre mini-kegs from the brewery shop from Thursday 23rd  March (pre-ordering recommended).

As our brewing schedule allows, we hope to brew another beer for Ukraine in the very near future.

Many of us have clothes hanging in our wardrobe that we no longer wear. That does not mean to say there is anything wrong with them but perhaps they no longer fit, your lifestyle has changed, and you no longer require business clothes to wear to work or you are simply bored with them. Now, thanks to an initiative organised by Sustainable Wantage and Grow Families, you can be part of a Clothes Swap taking place at Wantage Methodist Church in Newbury Street on Saturday 19th October.
