The festival is pleased to welcome back some familiar faces including Sir Max Hastings, Helen Fry and Pam Ayres. We will be hosting some new and interesting names including Laura Laker talking cycling Britain’s National Cycle Network, Mike Dilger with his book 1,000 Shades of Green looking at British wild plants and Katherine Carter, Curator at Chartwell speaking of Churchill in the inter war. Tickets go on sale early May.
We have a standalone event as part of the Summer Festival featuring Graeme Hall. Graeme will be at the Beacon on 29 June to promote his book ‘Does My Dog Love Me’. Tickets now on sale through our website.
Wantage Literary Festival has started the year off with a bang! We’ve refreshed our brand – spot our new logo! Now being launched across our social media. Do come find us on Insta, Facebook, and X, to let us know whether you like it? Judith Knight is to take the role of Festival Director for Festival 2024. Judith has been a voluntary team member for over eight years. She is looking forward to a busy year working with the volunteer team to create an exciting festival for all!
There’ll be lots more to see and do at the festival, with a pop-up café, a book stall to browse, and Wantage Art Group will exhibit a literary theme exhibition. There will be a writing competition for Over 13’s launching early July. The Library and Vale & Dowland Museum will have free events for children during half term supported by Wantage Literary Festival.
