“Why is it called Chequers Brasserie?” we have been asked. The answer’s simple; we love French food and wine and believe that both are best enjoyed in a relaxed Brasserie style environment.
Since opening in May, we have established a dedicated and talented team whose aim is to deliver quality food and excellent service. From us, you can expect classic French recipes with a modern twist alongside comforting British classics. As well as our a la carte menu, we offer a specials board which changes weekly so that we can use seasonal produce, and there is always something new to try!
Our fresh and delicious food is prepared using locally sourced ingredients to provide the best for our customers and help support the local economy in these challenging times.
It’s not just the food that may entice you to try the Chequers, we work closely with local wine importers Delibo to ensure we have an exceptional list of French wines to complement our food. We also offer some great beers on tap such as Moretti and Madris.
From October, we will be introducing our Sunday roasts, including meats such as Duck, Lamb and Beef as well as a plant-based option. For October we have an introductory offer where if you buy one main Roast course you can by a second main for £5.
We hold popular Bottomless Brunch events weekly and have recently held a successful tasting menu with paired wines which we hope to make a regular event.
Main menu items are priced from £14-£20, and our house wines at £16.50.
