With all the doom and gloom currently going around, we could all do with some light-hearted entertainment and a jolly good laugh. That is the sentiment of stand-up comedian Andrew Bird who has twenty years of experience entertaining audiences around the world in major comedy clubs.
Having set up the Lone Wolf Comedy Club in Bicester some five years ago to sell out audiences, Andrew has decided it is time for Witney to have a regular weekend monthly comedy club and he has found the ideal place in which to hold it. The Langdale Hall in Witney is a fabulous indoor venue with a late bar until midnight. The Lone Wolf’s opening night is Friday 3 March with doors opening at 7.00 pm for the show starting at 8.00pm until 10.00 pm. Tickets are just £15 (over 18’s only) and can be bought from WeGotTickets.com.
Growing up in Towcester, Andrew moved to London where he worked as a comedian before settling in Bicester. His Lone Wolf Comedy has brought the best British comedians to his gigs including Rhod Gilbert, Russell Howard, Russell Kane, Seann Walsh, and many others. Andrew has personally appeared on the ‘Russell Howard Hour’ and has been involved in writing comedy for ‘8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown’, Lee Mack’s ‘Duck Quacks don’t Echo’ and many others. He has supported Rhod Gilbert, Rob Brydon, Michael McIntyre, and Russell Howard on tour.
The opening night at the Langdale Hall will see Stefano Paolini, first seen on Britain’s Got Talent. Paolini is known for his first-rate impressions including a wicked beatox and 30 Simpsons impressions. He has also provided voices for BBC Two’s ‘Double Take’ and BBC Radio 4’s ‘Dead Ringers’.
Javier Jarquin will also be appearing. This extremely experienced and highly respected multi-skilled performer grew up in New Zealand with Latin American/Chinese parents. He has been acclaimed by The Stage as being “seriously talented when it comes to working a crowd” and Jarquin masterfully weaves his unique perspective into every performance and delivers sharply executed insights on life.
You can be sure that the monthly Comedy Clubs are going to bring much laughter and fun to the Langdale Hall’s audiences.
