With the school holidays soon upon us and you are looking for activities to keep your children engaged this summer, the Oxfordshire Libraries are running their Summer Reading Challenge 2024 – Marvellous Makers! Starting on the 6 July through to 7 September, this year’s Challenge is all about creativity and Witney Library in Welch Way will be running events throughout the summer exploring this.
There will be a weekly Lego builder session, junk modelling, craft activities and others. Children will also be encouraged to read at least six library books of their choice over the summer holidays. As they read, they collect stickers (some smelly) and rewards. For those who complete the Challenge, they will be rewarded with a Marvellous Makers medal and certificate.
Local libraries run a number of events for children throughout the year so take a look and see what else you can get involved in at Witney Library oxfordshire.gov.uk/residents/libraries/children-and-young-people.
This fun, free challenge is the perfect summer activity to build your child’s reading skills and confidence during the holidays. Keep an eye on the Witney Library Facebook page for all events!
