The Witney Photo Group

divider

The Witney Photo Group attracts a number of people who live in and around Witney and new members are always welcome to come along to a free ‘taster’ evening when meetings start again on 17 September.

If you are interested in photography, whether you are a novice or more experienced, being part of a group has many benefits. Not only will you be able to enjoy presentations from some of the world’s leading photographers and experience masterclasses from experts in many genres of photography, but you will also be able to meet people who share an interest. There are also monthly outings to a variety of locations.

Each year, the Witney Photo Group holds its annual exhibition at The Corn Exchange and this year’s event, held on 25 May, was a great success. Over one hundred photographs were displayed with a range of different subjects to offer so something of interest to everyone. The central images featured a ‘Moving Target’ theme and included wildlife as well as waterfalls, motor sports and other interpretations of this challenge that was set for the group’s members. The latter enjoyed talking to the many visitors throughout the day, including the Mayor of Witney Owen Collins.

If you missed the Exhibition in May or would like to revisit it, you will be able to see it again when most of the photographs are displayed at St Mary’s Church in Witney on 15 and 16 September. The exhibition is open from 2pm to 6pm and 7pm to 8pm on Sunday and 3pm to 7pm on the Monday.

The Club is in summer recess with the new season starting on Tuesday 17 September at 7.30pm. Meetings are weekly every Tuesday from September through to May and are held at Madley Park Hall, Northfield Farm Lane, Witney OX28 1UE. Annual subscription is just £45 per person, running for 12 months from the date of joining/renewal.
