Battle Proms Picnic Concert


Pack a picnic, chill the fizz and join us for a summer spectacular with music, fireworks, the legendary Grace Spitfire, parachutes, cannons and cavalry, as the ultimate ‘party in the park’ returns.

Enjoy a full programme of uplifting classical music from The Downton Abbey Theme and The Dam Busters March to the 1812 Overture and a ‘last night of the proms’ finale under a sky of dazzling fireworks.

Witney Carnival & Procession


Starting at 11am the procession will start at The Leys going via Church Green, Corn Street, Holloway Road, Welch Way, High Street/Market Street and Church Green back to The Leys by 12 noon. You will have the chance to see at least 30 entrants, including five traction engines along with floats from schools and local organisations. Once the procession returns to The Leys, the main Carnival event will get underway concluding at 4.30pm.

Bampton Classical Opera: ‘L’isola d’Alcina’

Orienteering family fun during the summer holidays. The Wind In The Willows: The Musical presented by Boxtree Productions


When Mole gets fed up with cleaning her home, she decides to leave her burrow and head out on an adventure! She meets Ratty, Toad and Badger and discovers a love of the river and the joy of the open road. However, that egocentric Toad is convinced to steal a car by those meddling weasels! Featuring hilarious comedy, magic and fantastic toe-tapping songs be sure of an evening of wonderful open-air theatre that the whole family will enjoy.

The Performances will begin at 5pm and will be approximately 2hrs long including an advised 20 minute interval.

The Game Fair


The Game Fair has something to offer the whole family, from toddlers to teenagers. This year you can watch working dogs show off their skills, falconry, ferreting, try archery, traditional crafts, clay shooting, fly fishing and much more. There’s great shopping, delicious food and drink, cooking demos and the opportunity to relax and socialise in the VIP Enclosure, hosted by James Martin daily along with Dick and Angel from TV’s Escape to the Chateau on Sunday.

Moonrakers


Four-piece Moonrakers (moonrakers.net) perform sparkling and unique arrangements of traditional British folk songs and tunes as well as their own compositions. Their multi-instrumental show comprises harp, cello, fretted instruments, whistles and female/male vocals. The evening starts at 6pm, concluding at 8.30pm. Oxfordshire Play Association’s Witney Playday


Come along to a day full of play and fun. Activities have been selected to provide opportunities for both physical and fun learning, with something suitable for young people of all ages and interests. Admission and activities are all free, although refreshments do need to be purchased. Visitors are welcome to bring their own picnic along. Open from 11am until 3pm. A chance to meet the owners of Waterperry Estate, the School of Philosophy and Economic Science. With a varied selection of lectures, talks and tours throughout the ‘open house’ weekend. There will also be opportunities to have guided tours of the Frescoes and other areas of the house throughout the day in addition to tours of the icehouse. Great Barn Festival
