No12 Jazz Lounge and Cocktail Bar, Langdale Court, to be precise…

In June 2021, No12’s proprietor Roger Smart took over the space that was known by locals as ‘Norton’s’. Since then, it has been Roger’s desire to bring a brand-new venue to Witney. “Officially, No12 Jazz Lounge is a cocktail and wine bar by night and coffee shop and café by day.” Explains Roger. “But really, we’re just a small team of people who love delicious things. I’m a great lover of jazz, so I wanted to make No12 a relaxed, welcoming, and ultimately comfortable venue for the people of Witney. The old Norton’s reputation is out, jazz is in!”

Sundays at No12

Every Sunday from 12pm, No12 serves a classic Sunday roast alongside live jazz music, performed by some of the county’s favourite artists that play in the likes of Ronnie Scott’s, 606 and Jazz Café.

Artists like…

Gemma Louise Doyle (gemma-doyle.com) A versatile artist, who appears live in Las Vegas, London, and other high-profile venues across the world. With an astounding four octave vocal range, Gemma has performed for Saudi Arabian royalty, the Prime Minister of Lebanon, and the likes of Jimmy Osmond.

Friday and Saturday

Live music or talented DJs play through the night for a unique evening out in Witney. This is when the shift from the old days to the new age of Witney jazz is felt most strongly. Soft velvet seating, richly coloured walls and ‘cocktail of the week’ awaits.

Thursday night jazz

Thursday nights at No12 are for jazz singers. From 8pm, guest performers set up for your evening entertainment while you enjoy a cocktail, wine, or beer at the bar.

There are a host of other events to welcome you to No12 – a venue like no other in town! How about business networking, bottomless brunch, or toddler group?

Look out on social media for pop-up nights such as authentic tapas, and gourmet burgers too. There’s even a regular meet-up for the Wych Craft knitting group! Walkers and their dogs from the nearby lake and country park are welcome and you can always drop in for a chat. Where else in Witney can you find an entertainment venue as diverse as this?

When I saw a post on Facebook promoting Scone Baking Demos with the chance to learn how to bake the most delicious scones possible, followed by the opportunity to indulge in a traditional English afternoon tea, I was intrigued and wanted to know more. What I discovered when I visit chezbeccy.com is that Beccy Hunt is a lady who has a passion for baking, and I decided it was time to have a chat with her to find out more.
